Rovnováha a možnosti jejího hodnocení

Lucia Bizovská, Miroslav Janura, Marcela Míková, Zdeněk Svoboda

Difficulties with maintaining balance can negatively influence the execution of movement – decreasing its accuracy and efficiency. For fall prevention, it is important to be aware of risk factors of falls. Generally, the risk factors can be divided into internal (impaired vision, unsteady gait, pain, etc.) and external (surface properties, lighting, footwear,etc.). Gait disorders are also among the common causes for fall. Fall prevention plays a crucial role in decreasing the incidence of falls. Fall prevention should be comprehensive, multifaceted and include education of individuals and communities as well as specialized training programs focused on balance improvement. In addition, attention needs to be paid to behavioural changes which lead to healthy lifestyle.
