An international study day “Bioethics in Charity Work” took place at Faculty of Theology, Palacký University in Olomouc, on 14th November 2019. Its aim was to bring to one table professors dealing with bioethics as well as the staff of the Archdiocesan Caritas Olomouc to discuss current bioethical topics. It turns out that bioethics concerns not only physicians, scientists, and theologians, but also social workers, who also face a number of bioethical issues. They have to deal with issues such as induced abortion and futile treatment. What attitude can an individual take? How to formulate the position of an organization and translate it into appropriate organizational measures? The purpose of this book is to bring more light into this debate and to show examples of good practice.
