Chůze osob s transtibiální amputací

Zdeněk Svoboda, Jiří Rosický, Miroslav Janura

Gait is of fundamental significance in human health. It is, therefore, a priority to restore gait ability in persons with partial loss of a limb due to trauma or disease without delay. The technology in this field is constantly evolving leading to the development of new prosthetic components, as well as more sophisticated gait analysis methods with prosthetic devices; this is the main focus of this book. The first two chapters concern basic information on prosthesis properties and alignment. In the following chapters, the gait cycle, methods of gait analysis and gait in healthy population are presented. The key section of the book is chapter 6, which eludes to the findings from scientific studies focused on gait in subjects with transtibial amputation, complimented by a description of the pathologic features of gait in this group.
